Artist Statement

Between Lens and Hand

Drawing on decades of photographic practice, public art, and environmental observation, Newton transforms collected visual experiences into intricate compositions. Her work exists precisely between photographic reality and painterly abstraction.

Current studio practice combines digital image-making, collage, and painterly processes to reveal new perspectives within familiar natural forms. Each artwork becomes a layered record of place, time, and emotional connection.
